Weekly Recs - 11/18/24
Some cards that over-performed during my games this week!
Weekly Recs
Highlighting five cards that could be worth picking up. (Note: These are sent to subscribers first and then posted a week later)
Enduring Innocence (and the whole cycle)
1 year ago - N/A
Today: $5.62
You should pick up copies of the entire "Enduring" cycle right now. These cards are some of the best cards from Duskmourn and can slot into countless decks. I am highlighting Enduring Innocence because of how it recently performed in my Necrobloom deck. Playing a land creates either a plant of zombie, which then draws a card off of Enduring Innocence. Even though it triggers only once each turn, it is a reliable form of card draw. Plus, if these Enduring creatures die, they return as enchantments, requiring your opponents to remove them twice!

Dryad's Revival
1 year ago - $0.09
Today: $0.18
The card Regrowth has lent it's namesake to the entire practice of getting cards back from your graveyard. Dryad's Revival is a regrowth effect that you can cast from your graveyard. In the early game, if you need to discard something to an opponent's effect, pitch this. In the late game, when you really need something back from your graveyard, cast Dryad's Revival for its flashback cost. The flashback makes this much better, in my humble opinion, than Regrowth!

Assassin's Trophy
1 year ago - $7.60
Today: $1.73
When Assassin's Trophy was first printed in Guilds of Ravnica, its price landed between $15-$20 and the card quickly became one of the best removal spells ever printed. The ability to destroy any permanent, even lands, makes it an auto-include in any deck with black and green. It is hard to believe you can grab a copy for under $2 today, but that is the result of regular reprints!
Types of decks to put it in
- Any deck with golgari in its colors
Bennie Bracks, Zoologist
1 year ago - $19.51
Today: $4.31
Similar to Assassin's Trophy, Bennie Bracks, Zoologist was a pricey card at first. It has since seen a reprint and fallen in price, but that does not make it any less powerful. In token decks, this is an easy extra card per turn. And not just on your turn...ANY player's turn. And do not overlook the convoke cost, as you can often cast this for just 1 mana if you tap existing tokens for the convoke.

Robe of Stars
1 year ago - $8.57
Today: $12.01
I know this is a pricey one, but Robe of Stars recently outperformed even my expectations in my Halvar, God of Battle equipment deck. It protected my commander from multiple removal spells and a board wipe. On each turns he phased back in, I was able to take out a player with commander damage.

End step
I clearly played a lot of white and green decks this week, as this week's picks were all inspired by my recent games. You know the feeling you get when you make an edit to your deck and it works out better than you expected? It's the best. It sure makes up for those 99 other times when you try out a new card and it bombs 🤣.
